How Much Expected Salary Increase in Budget 2023

Despite the limited resources in the federal budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, it is likely to include a proposal to increase the salaries and pensions of civil and military employees by 15 to 30 percent. The constitutional term of the present assemblies will be completed before August. Elections should be held within two months. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the federal cabinet. In this, the rising prices of essential goods within the country and their impact on the people in general, whether civilian or military, will be increased in salaries by keeping in mind the increase in their living expenses.

In Budget 2023, the salaries of federal and provincial employees have increased as follows. Due to the rising rate of inflation, the purchasing power of the people was lost.
In the year 2022, all allowances were merged into basic pay
While in the year 2021, the salaries increased by 35% in the name of Disparity Reduction Allowance and Special Allowance.

Federal and provincial employees await an increase in budget salaries in June. In previous years, the Imran Khan government increased salaries by 10% in the 2022 budget. Employees were also given a 25% Disparity Reduction Allowance. And Disability Allowance for disabled employees was doubled. While in Punjab the Hill Allowance of employees was also doubled. Retired employees’ pensions increased by 10%.
